The Doctoral Program in Economics (DPE), Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Universitas Padjadjaran (Unpad) was founded in the mid-1980s as part of the Postgraduate Program (PPS) Universitas Padjadjaran which was founded in 1982. In 2009, the Doctoral Program in Economics was administratively separated from PPS Unpad and then was integrated into the Faculty of Economics and Business. Initially, the DPE had 3 main concentrations (BKU); Economics, Management, and Accounting. However, in line with academic and organizational developments, BKU Management and BKU Accounting formed their own study programs and then administratively separated from the DPE. In line with Rector Regulation no. 50/2016 that mainstreaming research as method of education for doctorate program in Universitas Padjadjaran, student’s field of research for his dissertation and publication must be in line with field of interest and research map of his/her main supervisor. In general, fields of interest available in the Program DIE are Development Economics, Public Economics, Financial Economics, Natural Resource and Environmental Economics, International Economics, and Syariah Economics. Since 2015, the Program DIE had been accredited A by National Accreditation Agency for Higher Education (BAN-PT).
Through research-based education methods with dissertation outputs and publications in reputable international journals, DIE Program graduates have strong job prospects as researchers, teaching staff, consultants, and policy makers.
